It has an awesome location, with the Blue Lagoon being only 15 minutes away and the fishing harbour, as well as the Atlantic Ocean, being within walking distance. Apart from having museums, restaurants and galleries, the place also has the geothermal mud pool Gunnuhver and the 1878-built beautiful lighthouse Reykjanesviti nearby.

The closer the lagoon the more beautiful the spots and thus, more expensive too. The hotels featuring at the top of this list can be insanely expensive in the peak months. Also, children under 2 are not allowed into the lagoon, and those below 8 are only allowed for supervised entry. Also, keep in mind that Iceland has very strict hygiene ethics; making it one of the cleanest countries in the world.
